Description of Aikin House
The Newlands Valley remains one of the Lake Districts best kept secrets with breathtaking scenery, unspoilt by tourism. Aikin provides the ideal get away from it all retreat. Built as a barn in the 19th Century and converted to a house in 1965, the cottage is south facing and set in its own grounds commanding spectacular views along the valley from Catbells to Robinson. The property is in a tranquil, secluded location mid-way between Keswick and Buttermere. For those of you with a musical flair, you may try your hand on the church organ located in the lounge, the piano or the electric keyboard!
