Description of Dairy Cottage
Low Graythwaite Hall, just 5 miles from Hawkshead, 4 miles from Newby Bridge and within easy reach of Grizedale Forest and Lake Windermere. Magnificent topiary trees line the huge lawned areas, fringed by colourful displays of rhododendrons and other annuals in deep, accented borders. The setting is idyllic - a herd of deer at dawn or dusk can regularly be seen gently grazing the nearby 2 acres of woodland in which guests are free to explore. Dairy Cottage is also extremely peaceful - but for the sound of running water, the hoot of an owl or the occasional cluck from the chickens who produce the freshest, free range eggs, 1/2 a dozen provided as part of a small welcome pack, courtesy of the owners.
