Description of Rivington
Coniston village nestles at the foot of The Old Man, the most famous of the Coniston Fells. The village retains a good deal of its Victorian past and still has the local butcher, the grocer, the dairy, not forgetting some rather fine pubs, literally one on every corner. Rivington must boast one of the most fantastic views of The Old Man and Yewdale Fell from its lounge windows, the bungalow being opposite the bowling green and cricket field. A level 150 yard walk from the centre of the village and an easy 10 minute stroll to Coniston Water, Rivington is an ideal place for those wishing to be in a traditional village setting. A family home for many years, Rivington remains furnished as such, comfortable and traditional in style. The gardens to the front and rear are enclosed, particularly suitable for those with pets and the rear garden is sunny and peaceful.
