Description of Seagulls Lodge
Seagulls Lodge is a beach bungalow, situated on Braystones Beach on the beautiful Cumbrian coast, between St Bees and Ravenglass. The beach is a pebble beach at high tide, but reveals a sandy beach as the tide goes out, with views across the sea to the Isle of Man (on a clear day) and with stunning views of Black Coombe. The small train station at Braystones Beach is a request stop and travels between Carlisle and Barrow. The nearest amenities are 2.5 miles away at Egremont, although you can enjoy a drink at the clubhouse of a local caravan site. Guests can sea fish on the beach, walk the Lakeland Fells and visit local tourist attractions, such as Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass narrow gauge railway, St Bees Head and Sellafield visitor centre. Access to the bungalow is along a 1/2 mile compacted pebble beach track, suitable for most family cars. This eco friendly property gains its electricity from wind and solar power with a generator as back up. The property is not generally available in Winter, due to high tides, but may be possible by prior arrangement.
